It was told to me by another family member that Omon's nickname was "Homes", and he was killed by a falling tree in Salem, Missouri. However, this is apparently not correct. According to Jenny, she asked her Aunt Judy and Aunt Eunice (Eunice was his sister) and both of them say they never heard him called "Homes". A lot of people knew him by "Bill", and his family always refered to him as "Omon". Moreover, he didn't die by being hit by a falling tree. He actually died in jail. He was known as the town drunk and there was some festival or something going on the day he died. It's said the cops picked him up because he was drunk and disturbing the peace. However, it's believed he wasn't bothering anyone, but was just picked up for the sake of appearance. Anyway, he was taken to jail and put into a cell with someone else, who was also drunk and picked up for disturbing the peace. Apparently Omon and this other man got into a fight and Omon was killed. The cops found him later dead in his cell when they came to check on them.
