Personen : Ramsberger Frank
Thomas F. Ramsberger stated, "Frank Ramsberger was the son of Charles Ramsberger and Maria Reelitz. He was born in Germany on June 8, 1881 and immigrated to the United States that year with his parents. They lived in NY until around 1886. Frank's mother died at that time and his father Charles remarried an Irish immigrant, Mary Cooke. Research indicates that Frank did not stay with his father Charles. Frank was apparently married twice and had one daughter from his first marriage. His second marriage was to Dora May Heider. During that time he lived in St. Lous where he had a pretzel business. When his marriage failed he gave his business to his daughter Marion and her husband. Frank apparently went back to New Jersey where he worked in a textile factory. He died on March 3, 1967 at Preakness Hospital in Patterson New Jersey. He is buried in a community grave. Frank and his father, Charles, never were together again."

FARMINGTON - Mrs. Helen Louise Westover, 87, passed away March 5, 2008, at Camelot Nursing Center. Helen was born October 31, 1920, in Delassus, and was the daughter of Marion William Hill and Joyce Florence `Hubbard' Hill. Also preceding-in-death were: her husband, Leslie Martin Westover (1996); one daughter, Linda Roberts (1999); one sister, Norma Ruth Burnette and one Brother, James W. Hill.
Helen was a member of the Delassus Baptist Church.
Survivors Include: two Sons: Richard Westover, of Farmington; Dennis (and Diana) Westover, of Dittmer, Missouri. One Brother, Jack Leroy (and Joyce) Hill, of St. Clair, Missouri. One Son-In-Law: Francis Roberts, of Farmington. Also surviving are six Grandchildren and nine Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation Friday, 4-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service, Inc., Farmington. Visitation resumes Saturday at 6:30 a.m. and funeral Saturday, 11:00 a.m., March 8, 2008, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. Larry Greenfield officiating. Interment follows in Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington. Memorials may be made to The Delassus Baptist Church.

Obituary - Mary Chapman:
Mary Lee Chapman, 54, of Caledonia, died Dec. 4 at the Bonne Terre Hospital. She was born Nov. 17, 1912 to the late William and Minnie Upton.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Chapman, of Caledonia; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Fox, of Dallas, Texas; four sons: Kenneth ZJ. Chapman, of Bonne Terre, W. Michael Chapman, of Elvins, Lanny J. Chapman, of Bismarck and Rodnet Lee Chapman, of St. Louis and four sisters: Doris Jones, of Festus, Maxine Biggs, of St. Louis, Polly Poppy, of the state of Florida and Aldwna Hill, of Bismarck.
Friends may call today at the White Funeral Home in Ironton. Services will be held noon Tuesday at the White Chapel. Burial will be in the Chapman Cemetery.
Additional Information: The above obituary is incorrect on the date of her birth date, the correct date is November 17, 1929, not November 17, 1912.

Older family members have said William Lee was a minister in the eastern area of the Cherokee Indian Territory when he married a Cherokee Indian.
By 1815, William Lee had moved from North Carolina to Giles County, Tennessee where he purchased land on Richland Creek of the Elk River.
Another family researcher has William referred to as William W. Lea, and is not sure when or where he switched his name to Lee.

The unknown wife of William Lee was a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. When they married in the 1790's, the Cherokee Nation encompassed parts of eastern Kentucky and Tennessee, western West Virginia, southwestern Virginia, western North Carolina, northern Alabama, northwestern South Carolina and northern Georgia.
It wasn't until 1838 when lands were purchased and given to the Cherokees by a native of the region, William H. Thomas. Later, the U.S. Congress provided funds for purchasing an entire tract of land for todays Cherokee Indian Reservation in the western most section of North Carolina.
Nonetheless, there was much inter-marrying between Cherokee and non-Indian settlers which makes the genealogy research process even more difficult. Especially since some Cherokees desired to retain their Native American lineage and others did not.
The issue of an additional family search is complicated by the infamous removal of many Cherokees to Oklahoma on the Trail of Tears in the 1830's. As such, while some genealogy records do exist for tribal members, it is nearly impossible to trace anyones genealogy based on a single name, alone someone with no name.
However, the US Government conducted several censuses of the Cherokee Nation on both a pre and post-removal basis to the Trail of Tears. Therein, these records may hide the name and family genealogy to the wife of William Lee.
As an addition note, Dorcas Wood has not yet been documented as a member of this family. However, several records indicate a Docas Wood was married to the following husbands in or around North Carolina: William Lee, Harris Kimball, and Henry Cross.
It's believed the unknown wife of William Lee is buried somewhere in Shelby County, Tennessee.
