Obituary - Alleda Eva Kollmeyer:
Alleda Eva Kollmeyer was born in Farmington, MO., the daughter of Henry Kollmeyer and his wife Mary, nee Neidert, In early infancy she was baptized into the holy Christian faith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Rev. G. Toenjes officiating. Her sponsors were Ernest, Adam and Marie Neidert and Louise Lang.
Alleda received her elementary education at St. Paul's Lutheran School and the public schools. March 8, 1903 she confirmed into the Lutheran faith, the Rev. A. L. Rohifing officiating. Her Memory Verse was John 10:27-28. Alleda continued a faithful and devout follower of Christ all the days of her life. She taught Sunday School for more than 25 years, sang in the choir a number of years, and also was a member of the Women's Club of the church for several years.
After graduating from Farmington High School, Alleda attended the Moothart Business College of Farmington. Upon graduation from it she entered the employ of the Bleeke Abstract Company of Farmington and continued with this firm through its various changes during her entire business career. A rather unique detail od Alleda's life is this, that she was born, reared, and lived all of life at one and the same place, 216 East 1st Street in Farmington.
Monday, February 3, 1969, while engaged about the home, she suffered a stroke and was taken to Mineral Area Hospital, where she departed this life in the faith of her Savior Friday afternoon at about 12:30 o'clock.
She leaves to mourn her departure: a niece, Betty (Mr. Charles) Clark of De Soto, MO.; a great-niece, Miss Karen Clark; a great-nephew, Alan Clark; and a number of other relatives and friends. An infant brother and a sister, Mrs. Lourine Wease of De Soto, preceded her into eternity.

James Schifferdecker, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Mildred Clubb, sang "Rock of Ages" and "Beautiful Savior." Pall-bearers were Lynn Hopkins, W. K. Giessing, Fred, Frank and Raymond Kollmeyer, and Floyd Meyer. Interment was in the family plot of the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Farmington.
Miss Kollmeyer's mother, born at Iron Mountain, was the daughter of Ernest Neidert, who built the house at 216 East First Street which later became the Kollmeyer home. Her father was three years old when his parents came from Germany to settle on a farm in Liberty Township in 1851. After apprenticeship to Lang & Bros., Farmington, manufacturer of wagons, carriages, plows and lumber, he worked as a journeyman blacksmith and wagon maker in this vicinity, including De Soto, then returned to Farmington and became the senior member of Kollmeyer & Neidert, blacksmiths, carriages and wagon makers, undertakers, and manufacturers of farm implements.
Her father was one of the nine men who organized the congregation of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Flowers, needlework, reading and music were among Miss Kollmeyer's principal interests. She beautified the spacious grounds of her home with many flowering shrubs and plantings and she had a wide variety of house plants. She was especially skilled in tatting, crocheting, and in making appliqued quilts.
Miss Kollmeyer was known both for her pleasant and cheerful disposition and for her frank comments on matters of interest to her. Though not active in politics, she was strongly Republican.

Obituary - Mrs. John J. Kollmeyer:
Many of our good old men and women are passing away these spring days. One of the finest of our old citizens left us on Wednesday afternoon, April 1, 1948, about 3:30 o'clock when Mrs. John J. Kollmeyer went to her eternal rest.
Elizabeth Best, daughter of Carl and Marie (Rauch) Best, was born December 27, 1861, on the old Best home place, three miles east of Farmington, where she spent her childhood days. In 1876 she became a communicant member of the Lutheran Church in Pilot Knob by confirmation and has always been one of the most faithful members of the Lutheran Church. On Nov. 2, 1882, she was married to John J. Kollmeyer, with whom she spent a long and happy married life on the farm known as the old Kollmeyer farm, rearing a family of nine children, all of whom are living and all of whom are living in and around Farmington. They are Katie (Mrs. Adam) Meyer, Tillie (Mr. Henry) Rickus, Mayme (Mrs. B. L.) Griffin, Henry, Alma (Mrs. Jesse E.) Simms, Anna (Mrs. Chesley) Yeargain, Fred, Frank C. and Raymond. There are also 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Her beloved husband passed away on Jan. 1, 1930, in their home at 601 S. Jefferson, to which they had moved in 1927. Here Mrs. Kollmeyer continued to make her home until January of this year when failing health induced her to go to the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. L. Griffin, where she received the most loving care possible. Here she closed her eyes on April 7th.
Mrs. Kollmeyer is also survived her brother F. H. Best, of Farmington Route Three, and a sister Miss Mary Best, of Farmington. Her brother, Henry Best and sister, Mrs. M. B. Gierse passed away some years ago.
Her funeral will be held on Saterday afternoon from the Lutheran Church, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. E. C. Pardieck, at 2:30 o'clock. She will rest in the Lutheran Cemetery. Cozean Funeral home is in charge and the body will lie in state there until 2:00 o'clock Saturday.
