DECATUR - Elsie L. Six, 77, of Decatur, formerly of Springfield and Williamsville, went to be with her Savior and her loved ones in heaven 4:15 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 16, 2003) in her home.
Services will be noon Saturday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, with visitation two hours before services. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Williamsville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, in care of Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home.
Elsie was born May 10, 1926, in Williamsville, the daughter of Mont and Hazel Dow Horn Fuller. She was an inspector for Taylor Pharmaceutical, was a CHELP caregiver, and worked for F.W. Means Towel Co. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of VFW 99, Eagles 507 and American Legion Post 99. Elsie loved people, life, animals, dancing and the Cubs. She was a wonderful gardener. Everyone loved her macaroni and cheese. Her kids, especially, loved her fried chicken and carrot cake. She always wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of with a big smile and beautiful eyes. She married Norris L. Six. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughter, Judy Lee Eck and husband Richard Sprinkel of Rochester; sons, George Robert Eck of Athens; Frederick Joseph Eck and wife Barb of Virginia; Danny Lee Six and wife Susan of Decatur; daughter, Sarah Jane Six of Decatur; sister, Mary Frances Bice of Concord, N.C.; six grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother and one sister.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and love for Mom. Thank you, Dr. Muneses and staff, Dr. Kelly and staff, CHELP and MCHD. A special thanks and deep appreciation to "Birdie" (Bertha) and Gary Rau, Lisa Jenkins and her mom June, Chief and Virginia Bradshaw, Vicky Barnes, Darlene and Mary Rotz.
Elsie will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Special companions and Guardian Angels Josie, Bo, Rags, Tammy and Precious. Mommie I love you so much; it was a special honor and privilege to take care of you that no one will ever know. "We will dance again someday," your baby and best friend, Janie.

Funeral services for Robert (Bob) Warren Leslie Sr., 65, of Ponca City, will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stanley N. Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Navy.
Bob passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at his home in Ponca City, following a lengthy illness related to his military service in Vietnam.
Bob was born in Enid to Prentice and Dorothy (Streck) Leslie on Sept. 17, 1941. He was their only son. Bob attended Enid Public Schools, graduating from Enid High School in 1960. He joined the Navy and served in Vietnam. Bob returned to Enid after the service and met and married the love of his life, Parmalee (Sain) Leslie on Jan. 3, 1969. They have been married 38 and one-half years.
Bob and Parmalee remained in Enid where Bob completed his college degree in Business Administration and Geology at Phillips University. He owned and operated Industrial Hardware, National Pipeline Construction, RoPar Inc. He worked for Failing's, Serv-Air, Northrup, DynCorp, and Wal-Mart. He retired from DynCorp due to illness in 2006, and then Bob and Parmalee moved to Ponca City.
He is survived by his wife Parmalee; two sons, Robert Leslie Jr. and his wife Alexis and three children, Logan, Laine and Liam of Marrero, LA, son Christopher Leslie of Oklahoma City and two sons, Alex and Christian; a daughter Kimberlie Leslie of Ponca City; three sisters, Linda Hayes of Enid, Shirley Eck of Enid, and Sandy Schrock of Arizona; as well as several nieces and nephews and their families; his sister-in-law Debbie Sain of Oklahoma City, and a host of friends and relatives.
Robert was a great father, husband, and friend. He will be remembered as a strong Christian man with a good heart, a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather. He was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts, he loved fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one niece, one child, a brother-in-law, and his wife's parents.
Memorials may be made in honor of Robert to Boy Scouts of America, Oklahoma Bible Academy, Hillsdale Christian School, and the Foundation for Kidney, diabetes and lung research, or to donor's choice.

Mrs. Burchett was born Nov. 17, 1916, in Decatur, the daughter of Stewart and Velma Boggs Kerr. She was a member of Mount Auburn Church of Christ and retired from the Secretary of State's Office. She married Paul O. Burchett on Jan. 22, 1934, in Springfield.
Surviving are her husband; sons, Vernon (Sharon) Burchett of Michigan; Paul (Esther) Burchett and Robert (Mable) Burchett, both of Springfield; Richard (Paula) Burchett of Mount Auburn; daughters, Virginia (Lyle) Swiney of Lake Wood; Mary Ann (Jack) Workman of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Phyllis (Dave) Elston of Divernon; Linda (Tom) Vono of Springfield; Joyce Burchett of Mount Auburn; 34 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta White; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Schwab was born March 16, 1910, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Henry S. and Goldie Palmer Schwab. The Schwab family moved to the Assumption area about 1930. He was a farmer, carpenter and a sales representative for Pfister Seed Corn Co. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Assumption, Knights of Columbus, ATA Association and Assumption Rotary Club. He married Paullena C. Swiney Jan. 2, 1935, in Assumption. She preceded him in death May 7, 1986.
Surviving are his daughters, Earlene Jones and husband Lloyd of San Antonio, Texas; Verna Raney and husband Phillip of Ozark, Ark.; son-in-law, John Russell of Kankakee; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Marvin, and daughter, Shearon Russell.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Shelbyville, Masonic Lodge 53, Shelbyville, Springfield Consistory and VFW of Cahokia.
He married Hazel L. Green in Farmington, Mo., on Aug. 25, 1939. She preceded him in death on July 19, 1988.
Surviving are his sons, Walter Crowder Jr. of Martinsville; Gary Crowder of Shelbyville; daughter, Margaret Ann Swiney of Findlay; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Charles.

Mr. Swenny was born, March 31, 1913, in Assumption, the son of Romie and Catherine Swiney Swenny. He was a farmer and lived in the Pana area his entire life. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana, Knights of Columbus and Christian County Farm Bureau. He married Lucille E. Patterson on April 14, 1936, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana. She died Jan. 13, 1989.
Surviving are his children, Marilyn Endris and husband Harold of Pana; Evelyn Hildebrand and friend Bill Holthaus of Taylorville; Ronald Swenny and wife Cheryl of Pana; Robert C. Swenny and wife Judy of Pana; sister, Theresa Dressen of Pana; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one grandchild, one brother and three sisters.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post 99. He married Lucille Agnes Swiney on Jan. 25, 1944, in Assumption.
Surviving are his wife; son, Carl E. Vollmer of Decatur; sister, Helen Fornwalt and husband Elwood of Fullerton, Calif.

ASSUMPTION - Donald Eugene Sims, 63, of Assumption died 7 a.m. Monday (May 30, 1994) in his residence.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Assumption, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, with 8 p.m. wake service. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption. Memorials: St. Mary?s Cancer Care Center.
Mr. Sims was born June 6, 1930, in Decatur, the son of Lowell and Evelyn Johnson Sims. He was a farmer, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and past president of Christian County National Farmers Organization. He married Marcia Swiney on Feb. 10, 1961, in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife; parents of Assumption; sons, Michael Swiney of Pana; Brad of Glendale Heights; Steve of Corvallis, Ore.; daughters, Barbara Shepherd of West Covina, Calif.; Stasia Andrew of Petaluma, Calif.; Annette of Mount Zion; Lisa Fleming of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Jerry of Chandler, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

Ernest F. "Ernie" Hildebrand, 91, of Decatur died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 6:37 p.m. in Decatur Memorial Hospital. He was born April 5, 1915 in Rosamond, IL, son of Gustav & Mary Tamingo Hildebrand.
He was a graduate of Rosemond High School and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Born in Rosamond and later lived in Pana where he worked at George Penwell Department Store. In 1965 they moved to Decatur where he owned and operated Fay Fabrics & Draperies until 1977 when he retired. Ernie was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Decatur; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4431, Pana; American Legion, Pana; RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program), Decatur ; and he was active in the Rock Springs Environmental Club. He enjoyed camping and was an excellent gardener.
Ernie married Margaret O. Scott on September 5, 1937 in Rosamond. She died February 3, 2003. He is survived by his children: Margie Malone & husband Pat, Maroa, IL; Mary Kay Harris & fiancé Morris Ennis, Decatur, IL; Douglas Hildebrand & wife Marsha, Peoria, IL; Stanley Hildebrand & wife Mary, Metamora, IL; 10 grandchildren: Mark, Leah, Stacey, Nickey, Mandy, Jennifer, Keith, Leslie, Lindsay & Brad; and 7 great grandchildren: Maddy, Tyler, Abby, Aaron, Brynn, Brayden, and Cameron. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Louis, Henry, and Edward; and 3 sisters: Alma, Louise and Minnie.
Funeral Information: Funeral services will be Thursday, January 4, 2007 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond, IL with graveside military rites by VFW/AmVets/American Legion Honor Guard, Pana. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. in First Congregational United Church of Christ, Decatur and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana.
