Edith Robarge, 92, of Kent, Washington died at Evergreen Hospice of Kirkland, Washington on 20 December 2007. She was born on 30 September 1915 at the family farm south of Wilbur, Washington to George and Mary (Hankel) Wagner.
Edith graduated from Wilbur High School in 1933. She moved to Seattle, Washington to attend a secretarial school and later worked as a bookkeeper. She shared an apartment in Seattle with her sisters Ellen and Merle.
On October 14, 1940 she married John (also known as Jack) Robarge in Seattle, Washington and was a homemaker, lovely seamstress and avid gardener. Edith and John resided in the White Center community of Seattle all their married life. She remained in White Center after his death in 1980 until August, 2006 when she moved to Stafford Suites Assisted Living in Kent until 30 November 2007. She was hospitalized and moved to Evergreen Hospice until her death.
Edith is preceded in death by her husband John, parents George & Mary, brothers: Ernst Wagner (Ethel), Floyd Wagner, Clarence Wagner (Phyllis); sisters: Bessie Bumgarner (Ralph) and Dorothy Mager (Nicolas).
Survivors include: Sons: John R. Robarge (Patricia) of Bellevue, Washington and Paul Robarge of Auburn, Washington. Daughters: Linda McCloskey of College Place, Washington and Donna R. Brazil of Canton, Michigan. Grandchildren: John M. Robarge, James Robarge (Lanetta), Kevin McCloskey (Karen), Karin McCloskey, Daniel and Angela Brazil. Great grandchildren: Ian and Ethan McCloskey. Sisters: Merle Toskey of Seattle, Washington, Ellen Artley of Wenatchee, Washington and Ethel Erickson (Walter) of Spokane, Washington.
A graveside service will take place at the cemetery in Wilbur, Washington with Pastor Heather Jepsen officiating on Saturday, 29 December 2007at 1PM followed with a reception at Babe's Café in Wilbur.

Chas. W. Anderson was born in Tuscola, Ill., Jan. 14, 1860, and died in Elvins, Mo., Sept. 21, 1936, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stella Ketcherside, being at the time of his death 76 years 8 months and 7 days old.
He was married to Miss Eulala Robinson and to this union were born seven children: Eva, Eugene, Stanley, Eric, Louise, Charles and Eulala. Mrs. Anderson and three children preceded him in death. He was again married in 1902 [?][print faded] to Miss Eva Linza of Irondale, Mo., and they were the parents of five children, Stella, Roy, Ray, Dewey and Louise, two of whom preceded him in death. Those left to mourn his departure are his widow, Mrs. Eva Anderson; seven children, Mrs. Stella Ketcherside of Elvins; Dewey, Louie, Charles, Louis and Eric Anderson of St. Louis; and Stanley Anderson of Taylorville, Ill.; eight grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.
He united with the Presbyterian Church in 1926 and there held his membership until death.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Otto Shearer, pastor of Esther Nazarene Church.

BISMARCK YOUTH DIED IN ST. LOUIS HOSPITAL:
Donald Malloy, 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Malloy of Bismarck, died at 12:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 2, in Firmin Desloge Hospital in St. Louis, of a broken skull suffered on Monday of last week, when his head struck a stone as he dived into Indian Creek near Bismarck.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at ten o'clock at the Pentecostal church in Bismarck and interment was in the Masonic cemetery at Bismarck.

Henry Carter Guyton, a retired wagon maker, died last Wednesday evening at his home in East St. Louis, after an illness of a week.
Services were held Thursday in East St. Louis from the Kurrus Chapel by the Gothic Lodge of the Masonic Order. The body was brought to the Bonne Terre Methodist Church, where it lay in state from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m., when funeral services were conducted by Rev. Tetley of St. Louis and Rev. Wm. Stewart of Bonne Terre. Burial was in the Bonne Terre cemetery.
The deceased was born at Neleus, Mo., January 2, 1855. His wife, the former Alice Ann Green, died and was buried at Bonne Terre two years ago. He is survived by three sons, Frederick B., Harry E., and W. Arthur Guyton, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was a pioneer Bonne Terre resident and leaves many local relatives and friends.

John W. Todd passed away December 25, 1935, at his home near Bonne Terre, following an illness of twenty years. He was 77 years of age. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Benham Undertaking Parlors by Rev. I. H. Marks, pastor of the Bonne Terre Church of God. Burial was in the Bonne Terre Cemetery.
John Wesley Todd, son of the late Joseph and Cynthia Benson Todd, was born May 2, 1858. In November 1890 he was united in marriage to Josephine McClain and to this union five children were born. He is survived by his widow and three children, Mrs. Ethel Hull, Mrs. Pearl Casby and Marion Todd. Also nine grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Shelton of Potosi and Mrs. Elizabeth Boatright of Farmington.

Thomas Wells, who for the past ten years has operated the White Way Cafe and Tourist Camp on Highway 61, a mile east of Esther, passed away at his home Wednesday afternoon January 15, 1936, following an illness of six weeks. He was 63 years, 9 months and 21 days of age.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., at the residence with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The deceased was born in North Baltimore, Ohio, March 24, 1872. He was married at Menard, Texas, on December 25, 1915, to Mrs. Elizabeth Landrum, who survives. He also leaves five sisters: Mrs. Eva English, Minerva, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Brown, Long Beach, California; Mrs. Jessie Graham, Mrs. Nora Caldwell and Mrs. Della Weazer of Berrien Springs, Michigan; and one brother, Quimby Wells of Serenac, Michigan.

Elias James Gibson was born in St. Francois County, Mo., October 15, 1870, and passed away March 9, 1947, at his home on Ironton Route One, at the age of 76 years, 4 months 24 days.
He professed faith in Christ at an early age and united with the United Baptist Church at Doe Run and remained a faithful member until his death.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted companion and the following children: Thomas of Farmington; Casper of Ironton Route One; and Marjorie (Mrs. Pete) Donohue of Farmington; also eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Pat Gibson of Elvins Route One, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Pendleton Baptist Church in Doe Run, conducted by Rev. George Asher. Interment was in the Pendleton Cemetery. Sparks Service.

BUSENBARK FAMILY REUNION JAN. 23
A reunion of the Busenbark family was held last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Busenbark of Flat River, when they entertained with a turkey dinner in honor of the birthday of the former's mother, Mrs. E. Busenbark, which was on January 20. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Busenbark and grandson, Larry, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Busenbark and children, Gary, Janet and Trudy May, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Busenbark and daughters, Linda Jo and Shirley Ann, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Busenbark and daughter, Tanya Lee of Flat River and Mr. and Mrs. James Lemm and daughter, Sandra May of St. Louis. Mrs. Busenbark said this was one of the happiest reunions she has ever enjoyed and recalled the following poem she has remembered through the years:
When this world seems dark and dreary
And the sun isn't shining
Remember 'tis said "No cloud so black
But what will have a silver lining."

Oscar Murphy, son of Thomas Benton and Martha Bryan Murphy, was born August 1, 1871, and died in Bonne Terre Hospital on March 13, 1947, aged 75 years 7 months 12 days.
When a young man he was converted and united with the Methodist Church and remained a faithful member. On April 14, 1896, he was married to Anna Mamie Meyer and to this union one daughter was born. He leaves to mourn his passing his faithful wife, his daughter, Hazel (Mrs. R. A. Willa) of Bonne Terre; two granddaughters, Imogene (Mrs. Lester E.) Hawn of Columbia and Marilyn Willa of Bonne Terre.
Five sisters also survive: Olive (Mrs. Robert Helms) of Miami, Florida; Kathryn (Mrs. James D. Glunt) of Gainesville, Florida; Verna (Mrs. Clyde E. Harry) of Paso Robles, California; Maud (Mrs. W. A. Tetley) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Marjorie (Mrs. Rolla Kerhman) of Bonne Terre; one brother, B. F. Murphy of Flat River; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Services were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 1947, at the Methodist Church of Bonne Terre, by the pastor, Rev. D. R. Wasson. Interment was in the Bonne Terre Cemetery, where Masonic services were held.

MRS. ALFRED MURPHY:
Mrs. Harriet Annise Murphy, widow of the late Alfred Murphy, passed away at her home in Farmington, Tuesday, April 1, 1947, ending a lingering illness. She was 71 years 5 months 20 days of age.
Harriett Annise Babb, daughter of the late Robert and Mary Ellen Mackley Babb, was born in Ste. Genevieve County, Mo., October 11, 1875. She was united in marriage to Alfred Murphy, who preceded her in death two years. Surviving are two children: Hortense and Etta Mae, both of Farmington; a brother, John F. Babb of Farmington; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 4, at the Cozean Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. R. Ray Stone, pastor of the Farmington Baptist Church. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.

FRED HARPER:
Frederick Rudolph Harper, son of the late William and Sarah Ann Harper, was born at Alliance, Mo., on October 26, 1882, and departed this life at his home in Leadington, Saturday, January 24, 1948, aged 65 years 2 months 28 days.
On October 20, 1904 he was united in marriage to Clara Umfleet, and they were the parents of a daughter, (Hazel) Mrs. Roy Dreyer of Detroit, Mich. Besides his wife and daughter he leaves two sisters, Mrs. John Edmonds of Perryville and Mrs. Dave Hanners of Patton; two brothers, Frank Harper of Patton and Jesse Harper of Mine La Motte, other relatives and many friends.
The family lived in Mine La Motte and Festus before returning to the Lead Belt in 1923.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Free Will Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. F. C. Zinn, and interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, with Caldwell service.

L. G. WILLIAMS:
L. G. Williams, prominent citizen of St. Francois County, died suddenly last Thursday afternoon, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earl L. Bilheimer at Leadwood. Mr. Williams had been in good health, but passed away from a heart attack while seated in a chair. Mr. Williams was in the livery and taxi business in Bonne Terre for many years, retiring in 1925, when he and his wife moved to St. Louis. They resided there until 1938, when they returned to this county, to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Bilheimer, Mr. Bilheimer and children at Leadwood.
Luther George Williams, son of the late Lucy Groves and Riley Williams, was born in East Bonne Terre, July 17, 1870 and died at the home of his daughter in Leadwood, Thursday, January 29, 1948 at 2:45 p.m., at the age of 77 years 6 months 12 days.
On August 19, 1896 Mr. Williams was united in marriage to Lizzie L. Porter, who passed away July 19, 1945. Their marriage took place in Bonne Terre. One daughter, Nelle Lee (Mrs. E. L. Bilheimer) was born to this union, who survives, together with two grandchildren, Lee Bilheimer, a student at the University of Michigan and Miss Barbara Bilheimer, of Leadwood, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Williams was a member of the First Congregational Church of Bonne Terre, the Masonic Order, and the Knights of Pythias. He was a life-long Democrat.
The remains lay in state at the Benham Funeral Home, Bonne Terre Friday and Saturday and services were held Sunday afternoon, February 1, 1948, at three o'clock at the First Congregational Church, Bonne Terre, with Rev. Wilfred House, pastor of the Leadwood Methodist Church, officiating. Samaritan Lodge, A.F. & A.M., of which Mr. Williams was a member, conducted the Masonic burial services at the church. Interment was made in the Bonne Terre Cemetery, beside the grave of his wife. Benham Undertaking Co., was in charge of the service.

GENERAL FRANK KELLER DIED RECENTLY:
General Frank Keller, a former resident of Farmington, passed away in an Army hospital in El Paso, Texas, on February 1, 1948, following a prolonged illness of arthritis and complications, according to a letter received by Judge K. C. Weber of Farmington, a contemporary and life-long friend.
General Keller, who was 69 years of age, was a graduate of West Point, where he was a classmate of Douglas MacArthur. During World War I he served under the command of General Leonard Wood. Later he was stationed for several years in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife, a son, Frank Keller, Jr., and a daughter, Margaret, who is the wife of an army Colonel, also a sister, Miss Emma Keller of Ada, Okla.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keller, he left Farmington more than thirty years ago. His body was taken to Washington, D.C., for burial in Arlington National Cemetery.

MRS. MINNIE L. SIKES:
Mrs. Minnie Lee Sikes, widow of the late Marion Sikes, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 1936 at the home of her son, Albert Sikes of Elvins Route One, aged 64 years 6 months and 15 days.
She was born in Graniteville, Missouri, March 15, 1872 and was the daughter of James and Sophia Shelton Moyer. She was united in marriage to Marion Sikes, who preceded her in death nine years. Surviving are five sons and a daughter, Chas. M. Sikes and William Sikes, Bismarck; Ellec and Albert Sikes, Elvins Route One; George Sikes and Mrs. Addie Swonger, Detroit, Mich. Besides the children she leaves sixteen grandchildren, two brothers, Thos. Moyer, Elvins and Marion Moyer, St. Louis and a sister, Mrs. Adda Ferguson, Graniteville.
Mrs. Sikes was seriously ill only five days, having suffered a stroke of apoplexy. During her last days here, everything possible was done for her by members of the family and her neighbors and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m., at the Bismarck Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. R. L. Shell. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Bismarck under the direction of the Hood Undertaking Company.

Miss Anna Toby was born October 15, 1908, and passed away at the Bonne Terre Hospital Sept. 29, 1936, aged 27 years, 11 months and 14 days.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning at nine o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bonne Terre, conducted by Rev. G. W. Brinkmann. Burial was in the Bonne Terre Catholic cemetery.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Toby, and two brothers, George Toby of St. Louis and Joseph J. Toby of Bonne Terre.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Benham Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, for Thomas R. Flowers, who died January 7, 1936, in San Francisco, Calif. Rev. J. B. Ragsdale of the First Baptist Church in Bonne Terre, conducted the services.
The deceased was born in Caledonia, Missouri, December 9, 1873, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Flowers and at the time of his death was 63 years and 26 days of age. His only known surviving relative is a daughter, Miss Maybelle Flowers of St. Louis. He was a half-brother of the late Wm. Clenson of Bonne Terre.

JOHN WAMPLER:
John Wampler passed away at his home in Farmington Wednesday evening, January 1, 1936, following an illness of heart trouble. He was born in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri, the son of the late Jacob and Mollie Haddock Wampler and at the time of his death was 82 years, 7 months, 12 days of age.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at one o'clock at the Neidert Funeral Home and will be conducted by Rev. J. M. Bailey. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Knob Lick.
He is survived by his widow, four half brothers, J. Alvie Wampler and Zeno Wampler of Flat River; Otto Wampler and Hugh Wampler of Farmington Route Three, and a half sister, Mrs. Ab Mullins of Farmington, also several step-children, other relatives and many friends.

MRS. LOUISE SMITH:
Mrs. Louise McThee Smith was born in Canada, October 4, 1859, and departed this life at the home of her son, Dennie Smith of Leadwood, Tuesday, December 31, 1935, aged 76 years, 2 months, 28 days.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m., at the Leadwood Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. M. F. Johnson, assisted by Revs. Garrison, Carl and Roam. Interment was in the Leadwood cemetery.
On December 11, 1890, the deceased was united in marriage to Elijah M. Smith and they were the parents of one son, Dennie Smith, who survives. She also leaves three sisters, nine grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
She was converted when a young girl and for a number of years had been a member of the Leadwood Baptist Church.

MRS. JAMES COURTOIS:
Mrs. James Courtois passed away at her home in Flat River at 5 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 1936, following an illness of two months. She was 52 years and 10 months of age.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the First Baptist Church in Flat River by the pastor, Rev. W. M. Hammond. Burial will be at Parkview, under the direction of the Diemer Undertaking Company.
Ada Anne Lemons, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Lemons, was born near Caruthersville, Missouri, March 15, 1884. Her marriage to James Courtois took place in Ste. Genevieve County, January 9, 1901. They were the parents of three children, one son, William, having died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and two daughters, Ethel (Mrs. Raymond) Blake of St. Louis, and Mrs. Mercedes Downs of Flat River.
Mrs. Courtois was converted under the ministry of Rev. Geo. Steel and united with the First Baptist Church in Flat River, where she retained her membership until death. She was a Christian wife and mother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
